The Texas Organizing Project (TOP) is looking for a Housing Justice Organizer in Harris County. This full-time role is for someone who wants to build grassroots power and push for affordable housing reform in Houston's Black and Latino communities. If you care deeply about housing justice and want to turn that passion into a career, this could be your opportunity.
The Housing Justice Organizer will build relationships with tenants and community members, develop local leaders, and run regular events like town halls, house meetings, and press conferences. Day-to-day work includes planning campaigns, writing letters, collecting petition signatures, and meeting with elected officials. The role sits within a union-represented bargaining unit. Salary ranges from $40,000 to $43,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and mileage reimbursement. Spanish-English bilingual candidates are strongly preferred. Women of color and people directly affected by housing insecurity are especially encouraged to apply.
