Next rungHow to step in+
Good first step: Act UHD Microsoft 365 sign-up page
Go to uhd.edu and log in with your UHD account. Look for Microsoft 365 under student or staff resources and follow the steps to set it up for free.
If you are a University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) student, faculty member, or staff member, you already have free access to Microsoft 365. That means professional email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and a full terabyte of cloud storage — all included with your UHD account.
Your UHD Microsoft 365 account includes: Outlook for email and calendar, Microsoft Teams for chat and video meetings, Office web apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) that run right in your browser, OneDrive for Business with 1 TB (terabyte) of secure cloud storage, the full Office desktop suite installed on up to five computers, and Office mobile apps on up to five tablets and five smartphones.
Students sign in at the Microsoft 365 student portal using their full Gatormail address — formatted as username@gator.uhd.edu. Faculty and staff use their full UHD email address — formatted as username@uhd.edu. Once you are in, you can open any app from the same dashboard. If you have trouble signing in, visit the Password Assistance page linked on the UHD Computing site. Keep in mind that UHD systems are monitored under Texas state rules, so use your account for legitimate academic and work purposes.
No fixed date
Not location-specific
Microsoft 365 connects directly to your UHD coursework, group projects, and remote meetings. Teams works alongside Outlook, so you can schedule a meeting and join it without switching apps. OneDrive syncs with the Office desktop apps, so your files are always up to date across every device you use.
Microsoft 365 gives you the same tools used in workplaces across Houston and beyond — at no extra cost. You can write papers, join virtual meetings, collaborate on group projects, and keep your files safe in the cloud, whether you are on campus, at home, or on your phone.
