Good first step: Act Find your nearest Harris County Precinct 1 Community Center
Search 'Harris County Precinct 1 Community Centers' online or visit hcp1.net to find the center closest to you and see what activities are offered.
Harris County Precinct One runs nine Community Centers across the precinct. Each one is a free gathering place where you can learn new skills, find resources, get active, and meet your neighbors. No two centers are exactly alike — each one shapes its programs around what that neighborhood needs most.
Nine Community Centers operate under the Harris County Precinct One office, led by Commissioner Rodney Ellis. Each center offers its own mix of programs based on what that community needs. You might find fitness classes, skill-building workshops, resource connections, or just a friendly spot to spend time with neighbors. All centers are open to residents and aim to create fair, welcoming spaces for everyone.
Start by finding the center closest to your home. Once you know which one is nearest, check what programs and activities it offers. Then show up — no complicated process required. If one center does not have what you are looking for, you have eight others to explore across the precinct.
