Harris, Brazoria, and Galveston Counties. You can apply online when the portal is open, or in person at a BakerRipley location starting October 27. Water bill assistance is not covered by this program.
Keeping the lights on and the gas running matters — especially during Houston's hot summers and occasional cold snaps. If a utility bill has gotten out of reach, this program exists to help you bridge the gap without cost or shame. One application per household per calendar year is allowed, so it is worth applying as soon as the portal reopens.
For over 100 years, BakerRipley has been part of Houston's fabric. We run 30+ community centers across the city, reaching over 500,000 neighbors a year — from free tax preparation and English classes to emergency rental assistance and workforce training. Where you live should not determine whether you thrive.
