The 2-1-1 specialists know the local landscape. They listen without judgment and search a wide database of Houston-area social services to find options that fit your situation. You don't have to figure it out alone.
United Way of Greater Houston is a nonprofit organization that helps people in the Houston area build better lives. They focus on three main areas: helping families reach financial stability, supporting early childhood and youth development programs, and connecting people to health care resources. They run the 211 Texas/United Way HELPLINE, which is available 24 hours a day to help people find food, shelter, disaster recovery support, and other services. They also work with donors, volunteers, and other nonprofits to address the community's most pressing needs, and they support programs that help veterans, families in crisis, and anyone struggling to make ends meet.
