The Harris County Commissioners Court is the governing body of Harris County, Texas. Led by the County Judge and four precinct commissioners, the court sets the county budget, tax rate, and policies affecting public health, infrastructure, flood control, and justice for over 4.7 million residents.
Services vary by location but can include: routine checkups and wellness exams; cancer screenings for cervical, breast, and prostate health; STI (sexually transmitted infection) and HIV testing and treatment; vaccines for children and adults based on state guidelines and availability; pregnancy testing, birth control, and pap exams; dental exams, X-rays, and cleanings; and referrals, counseling, and follow-up care.
