The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) Community Engagement program connects students with volunteer opportunities across the Houston area. Whether you want to serve solo, with friends, or through a campus club, the program helps you make a real difference — and builds skills that matter in your career and community.
UHCL's Center for Student Engagement runs the Community Engagement program. It links students to community organizations and nonprofits. You can volunteer on your own, bring a group of friends, or get involved through a student club or organization. The program focuses on three things: taking meaningful action in your community, understanding the social issues behind the work you're doing, and growing as a civic leader.
Start by reaching out to the Center for Student Engagement. They can match you with an opportunity that fits your schedule, interests, and goals. If you represent a nonprofit or community org, you can also email them to list a volunteer opportunity for UHCL students. Office hours run Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. — but call ahead during holidays and semester breaks.
