"Being an engaged citizen goes beyond just staying informed. UHCL's programs encourage students to think critically, respect different perspectives, and take action in their communities — locally, nationally, and globally. Student voting rights are a special focus."
The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) offers civic engagement programs for students at its Houston campus. Programs help students reflect on their own identity and values, look at democratic principles and current events from many angles, explore how diverse cultures shape society, and understand the importance of voting. The Center for Student Engagement runs these programs and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
