This new law would let people go straight to a physical therapist for help without having to get a note from their doctor first. Right now, most people need their doctor to write a special paper called a referral before they can see a physical therapist. This change would make it easier and faster for people to get the help they need when their body hurts or doesn't work right.
This policy builds on communities' existing strength in seeking healthcare solutions by removing barriers that delay access to physical therapy services. When people can connect directly with physical therapists, families can address pain and mobility challenges more quickly, supporting their ability to stay active and engaged in their daily lives and community activities.
