The Health Committee addresses health disparities affecting communities of color in Houston and Harris County. Through education, advocacy, and community partnerships, the committee works to ensure equitable healthcare access and improved health outcomes for all residents. When we show up together, our community becomes more connected, more resilient, and more powerful.

IM Houston

For over 60 years, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston has brought people of diverse faith traditions together for dialogue, collaboration, and service to the most vulnerable in our community. IM Houston operates Texas's largest Meals on Wheels program (delivering 1.5 million meals annually to 4,300+ homebound seniors), resettles refugees from 40+ countries, coordinates thousands of disaster and community volunteers through Volunteer Houston, and fosters interfaith understanding through dialogue programs, youth leadership, and cultural exchange.

Third Ward Multi-Service Center

The Third Ward Multi-Service Center is a City of Houston facility on Ennis Street serving one of Houston's most historically and culturally significant African American communities. Third Ward is home to Texas Southern University, Emancipation Park, and a long tradition of Black civic leadership. The MSC connects Third Ward residents to health services, social service referrals, public benefits programs, and city-administered community resources in a neighborhood navigating deep history and ongoing development. Acres Homes Multi-Service Center

The Acres Homes Multi-Service Center is a City of Houston facility serving the northwest Houston community with extended weekday and evening hours. Located on W. Montgomery Road, the center provides residents with access to health services, social services, recreational programming, and civic resources. As one of the few MSCs with extended Thursday hours until 8:30pm, it is designed to reach working families in the Acres Homes neighborhood who cannot access services during standard business hours.
