Our Community
At UHD, community is at the heart of the employee experience. We believe recognition,
connection, and shared purpose are essential to a thriving workplace—and we create
meaningful opportunities for employees to engage with one another throughout the year.
We celebrate excellence through ongoing recognition and signature events. Programs
like Kudos, our peer recognition system, allow employees to acknowledge colleagues
who go above and beyond, while our annual Staff Awards ceremony formally honors individuals
who demonstrate outstanding commitment and impact.
Beyond recognition, our campus is enriched by traditions that bring people together.
From our longstanding President's Lecture Series and the College of Public Services' vitalvoices forum to the annual Chili Cook-Off and Tail-Gatoring, there are countless ways to connect with colleagues and participate in campus life.
We also value shared governance and inclusive decision-making. Employees have opportunities
to contribute to institutional policies and priorities through established processes
and through active organizations such as the Faculty Council, Staff Council, and the Student Government Association. We encourage you to explore these groups and learn how many voices help shape UHD's
direction.
