Wales became the first part of the United Kingdom to require solar panels on new buildings starting March 2027. The new rules need buildings to have renewable energy systems that can make at least 720 kWh per year. Most builders will choose solar panels because they work well and cost less than other options.

Ocean cleanup efforts hit a major milestone. Since 2013, Ocean Cleanup has removed 110 million pounds of plastic from our oceans using special floating barriers and drones. The group targets areas with the most plastic waste, including rivers that carry trash to the sea.

Mexico's monarch butterfly population grew by 64% this winter. The butterflies now cover 7.24 acres of forest, up from 4.42 acres last year. This is the largest area since 2018. Conservation efforts are working to protect these butterflies that travel nearly 3,000 miles from Canada to Mexico each fall.

Young inventors are solving real problems. Millie, an 11-year-old from Greater Manchester, created color-changing glasses to help people with dyslexia read more easily. Her invention won a major engineering competition with over 70,000 entries. Another young inventor, Najma Omar, created a sensory-friendly hijab to help her autistic sister feel more comfortable.
