Mayor's community forum — Third Ward

Third Ward residents can bring housing problems, flooding concerns, and safety questions directly to Mayor John Whitmire at an upcoming community forum. The mayor wants to hear what people need most in our neighborhood.

The 90-minute meeting splits into two parts. City staff will spend the first 30 minutes sharing updates on current projects. The remaining hour belongs to residents asking questions and telling the mayor what needs fixing in Third Ward.

Families can attend together since childcare happens on site during the meeting. Translation services work in Spanish and Vietnamese for residents who need them. People can ask about anything affecting daily life here—specific flooded streets, affordable housing options, small business support, or safety concerns.

Third Ward Community Development Corporation helped organize this forum because residents pushed for more direct access to city leadership. The mayor and city staff will take notes on what people share and respond to questions during the meeting.
