A faith-based nonprofit serving those in need since 1871, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston comprises 1,700+ volunteer members ('Vincentians') organized into 50+ parish chapters called Conferences, plus a network of food and clothing pantries. It provides immediate relief to families in crisis and works to lift people out of poverty by addressing its root causes.
The Underserved Communities Initiative is a grant program enabling resource-constrained parish Conferences to provide free financial assistance to neighbors in underserved or at-risk areas of Greater Houston during crises. Access is through a local parish Conference.
