The Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command is the local arm of The Salvation Army (Southern Territory) providing social services across the Houston region from about 17 locations. It offers emergency shelter and transitional housing, disaster relief, rent/utility and basic-needs assistance, youth and senior programs, rehabilitation, and seasonal Christmas assistance.
Disaster Relief & Emergency Response meets the immediate needs of survivors and relief workers after disasters with food, shelter, and emotional and grief support, provided free and without discrimination by The Salvation Army, a United Way of Greater Houston partner organization.
