Young people ages 18 to 24 who need emergency housing can find safety at Covenant House Texas. The shelter welcomes homeless youth with immediate housing and support to build a path toward independence.
The program serves young adults including pregnant teens and parenting teens with children. Staff provide more than just a bed. Young people receive respect, support, and help planning their next steps toward stable housing and self-sufficiency.
Covenant House Texas operates as a faith-based organization on Houston's main campus. The shelter connects young people to counseling services, healthcare, and other community resources. Many residents work with staff to develop job skills and education plans.
People needing shelter can visit the main campus at 1111 Lovett Boulevard in Houston. Intake happens between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM daily. After 3:00 PM, people can call 713-523-2231 or 713-630-5601 for information or help. No appointment is needed to request housing.
Young people can also call for crisis support or information about other services. The organization connects people to medical care through Harris County Hospital Teen Clinic, counseling through Montrose Counseling Center, and emergency hotlines for immediate help with violence, trafficking, or mental health crises.
