Harris County Commissioners Court will vote on October 15, 2026, to approve an updated list of banks and securities firms authorized to handle county investments. Texas law requires this review at least once a year. The Financial Management Division selects qualified firms and submits the list for court approval. The meeting is at 1001 Preston, 1st Floor, Houston, starting at 9:00 AM. The public may attend in person.
Harris County keeps public money in banks and investment firms. This vote decides which specific firms are allowed to handle that money. Residents may care because it affects how county funds are managed and who has access to them.
