Harris County Building Maintenance Contract Assignment Approved

Harris County Commissioners Court approved transferring a building maintenance contract from Johnson Controls, Inc. to Johnson Controls Building Solutions, LLC. This contract covers comprehensive maintenance and inspection services for chillers that keep county buildings cool and comfortable. The contract becomes effective January 5, 2026, and includes a goal of 7% participation by minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE), though current participation is 3.43%. This matters because Harris County operates many buildings that serve our community - courthouses, health clinics, libraries, and administrative offices. When these buildings have reliable heating and cooling systems, county workers can better serve residents, and visitors stay comfortable while accessing vital services like voter registration, health screenings, and court proceedings.
