About Alejandra Salinas
Alejandra Salinas serves as Houston City Council Member At-Large Position 4, having won a special election runoff in December 2025. A third-generation Texan born and raised in South Texas, she is the first openly LGBTQ+ Latina elected to Houston City Council and the first Latina elected citywide in nearly thirty years. She is a partner at Susman Godfrey, one of the nation's leading litigation firms, where she has worked on civil rights cases, election protection, and cases securing major outcomes for clients. Salinas holds a law degree from Boston College and clerked for Chief Judge Sidney R. Thomas on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is the youngest member of the current Houston City Council.
