"Many women need care from more than one type of doctor — especially during pregnancy or when facing a difficult diagnosis. This facility brings obstetricians, gynecologists, neonatologists, fetal specialists, and mental health providers together in one place. That teamwork is meant to make care smoother and safer for both moms and babies.
The NICU here is ranked second in the nation for neonatology by U.S. News & World Report, and it was the first Level IV NICU in Texas — the highest level of newborn care available."
Texas Children's Pavilion for Women is located at 6651 Main St in Houston. It serves women at every stage of life and babies from before birth onward. Doctors from many specialties work together in one place. The facility offers maternity care, mental health services, fertility treatments, minimally invasive surgery, and genetic counseling. No mother or baby is turned away due to the complexity of their condition. Call 832-826-3000 to make an appointment.
Updates
At Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women, we care for women in all stages of their lives and for children from preconception to long after birth. We have pioneered a collaborative working relationship between obstetricians, gynecologists, pediatricians and many subspecialists — all in one location — to give children the best start possible even before birth. We know to improve the health of children, we must start with the health of mothers.
Every step of the patient’s interaction with the Pavilion from consultation to discharge is our family-centered approach designed to encourage trust, understanding and family bonding. Ranked second in the nation for neonatology by U.S. News & World Report, Texas Children’s houses the first level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Texas, the highest level of care available for newborns. In the Pavilion for Women, our combined level 2 and 3 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) offers specialty care for newborns. Texas Children's Pavilion for Women prides itself on the fact that no mother and no baby will be turned away due to the complexity or rarity of their medical condition.
Our Mission
Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women provides women, mothers and babies with a full continuum of high-quality, expert health care: Lifetime, well-woman care Calming surroundings Advanced treatment for babies Renowned neonatologists Fetal specialists High-level NICUs
Our Progress
In 2012, Texas Children’s opened the Pavilion for Women in the Texas Medical Center campus to meet what was then a growing demand for women’s services. The facility offers state-of-the-art care for every aspect of women’s health, including mental health, minimally invasive surgery, fertility treatments and genetic counseling.
Texas Children’s continued to embrace the needs of women for a spectrum of health care such as lifetime well-woman care before, during and after birth as well as services such as gynecological surgery and treatment, contraceptive management and The Menopause Center. Our forethought resulted in the construction of Pavilion Tower II, which open in August 2023. To facilitate the continued collaboration of our medical staff and to benefit patient care and access, the two Pavilions for Women are connected by a skybridge.
Our continuing goal of providing health services to women is evident in each of the Pavilion community clinics, with an OB/GYN clinic in Pearland and a family fertility center at The Woodlands campus. Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women Austin includes a maternal-fetal medicine clinic and an OBGYN clinic; a new children’s and women’s hospital is scheduled to open this year.
