Houston celebrates all year long. This month-by-month guide from My Gay Houston covers annual events across the city and nearby Galveston — from marathons and rodeos to Pride parades, fundraisers, and community festivals. Many events support LGBTQ+ communities and causes, including HIV/AIDS services and civil rights.
The guide covers events month by month, January through December. Highlights include the Chevron Houston Marathon, the MLK Grande Parade, Galveston Mardi Gras, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Black Queer AF Music Festival, Bunnies on the Bayou, the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) Houston Dinner, the Houston Art Car Parade, Houston Pride events in June, Galveston Gay Beach Weekend, and the Transgender Unity Banquet, among others. Many events raise funds for causes such as HIV/AIDS services, LGBTQ+ civil rights, and scholarships for transgender community members.
Use this calendar at the start of each season to plan ahead. Check back often — some events list dates as TBD (to be determined), meaning details are confirmed closer to the event.
