Overview
The Houston Food Bank connects our community with food through a strong network of local partners. Our food bank serves 18 counties across southeast Texas with help from more than 1,600 community partners.
We have three main ways to be part of the solution in our community. We can donate money to help provide meals. Every $1 we give helps provide 3 meals for our neighbors. Every $10 donation provides 30 meals. We can also volunteer our time as individuals or groups. Many volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year.
When families in our community need food assistance, we can help them connect with local partners. The food bank works with thousands of people each week through different programs and services. Partners are located throughout the 18-county service area to make help accessible to everyone.
Our community also engages in advocacy work through the food bank's Advocacy Council. This council speaks out about policies that affect our daily lives and our community. Civic engagement helps our voices be heard on issues that matter to us.
To get started, we can visit the Houston Food Bank website to donate, sign up to volunteer, or find a local food assistance partner near us.
