Harris County Social Services connects residents with essential resources through three community center hubs. This free service helps people navigate assistance programs and find support for basic needs. The team provides help with food assistance, job applications, healthcare services, housing resources, and benefit applications like SNAP, Medicare, and Social Security. They also offer education resources, mental health support, legal aid connections, and help with citizenship records. Staff speak multiple languages including English, Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, and others to serve our diverse community. You can meet with a Social Services team member at Bayland Community Center, Radack Community Center, or Tracy Gee Community Center on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This matters because many residents need help understanding which programs they qualify for and how to apply. Having trained staff who speak your language makes the difference between getting help and giving up. The service removes barriers by bringing multiple resources under one roof.
