"Harris County Precinct 4 is spending $170 million to fix up parks, trails, sidewalks, and drainage in communities across the area. This could mean safer streets, better parks, and less flooding near where you live."
Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones announced 32 projects selected through the 2023 Call 4 Projects: Places 4 People initiative. The $170 million investment — including $88 million from Precinct 4 — will fund improvements across Harris County Precinct 4. Projects include hike and bike trails, sidewalk upgrades, park improvements, bayou greenways, drainage work, METRO bus shelters, and pedestrian bridges, many completed in partnership with local districts, MUDs, and nonprofits.
