Overview
Goodwill Houston partnered with CompuCycle to create a win-win solution for our community's electronic waste problem. This program lets Houston residents drop off old laptops, computers, monitors, tablets, and small printers at select Goodwill donation centers across the Greater Houston area. When you donate working electronics, Goodwill sells them to fund job training and career development programs for people facing employment barriers. Electronics that can't be resold go to CompuCycle's Houston facility for responsible recycling with strong data security protection. This partnership tackles two big community needs at once. First, it keeps electronic waste out of landfills by providing proper recycling. Second, it creates funding for workforce development programs that help our neighbors build careers and economic stability. The program serves all Houston neighborhoods, making it easy for families to clear out old tech while supporting their community. Every donation helps fund programs that train people for jobs in healthcare, construction, retail, and other growing industries. To get involved, find your nearest participating Goodwill location and drop off your old electronics during regular donation hours. You can also check Goodwill Houston's website for a list of accepted items and donation center locations. Your old laptop or tablet could become someone's pathway to a new career.

In an effort to tackle the growing challenge of electronic waste while creating positive community impact, Goodwill Houston has partnered with CompuCycle, a certified Houston-based electronics recycler, to launch an easy, responsible electronics recycling initiative for the Greater Houston area.
Through this collaboration, residents can now drop off old laptops, desktops, monitors, tablets, small printers, and other household electronics at select Goodwill Houston donation centers. Items that still function will be resold to support Goodwill’s nonprofit mission—funding job training, career development, and educational programs for individuals facing barriers to employment. Electronics that can’t be resold are sent to CompuCycle’s state-of-the-art Houston facility, where they are responsibly recycled under rigorous environmental and data security standards.
“This partnership represents the best of what local collaboration can achieve,” said Kelly Adels Hess, CEO of CompuCycle. “Together with Goodwill, we’re creating a simple pathway for Houstonians to make a positive impact—whether that’s funding job training programs or ensuring their old electronics are processed responsibly right here in Houston.”
