Find a session →Houston has 88 Super Neighborhood Councils, each setting its own meeting schedule. Super Neighborhoods are the city's official framework for resident-led community engagement. Every Houston address falls within a Super Neighborhood, and every council meeting is open to the public. Councils discuss neighborhood issues with city departments, advocate for services, review development proposals, and organize community projects. Visit houstontx.gov/superneighborhoods to find your council and its next meeting date. This is the most local level of civic participation in Houston.
The Houston Department of Neighborhoods provides support to the city's 88 Super Neighborhood Councils and serves as a bridge between residents and city government. The department coordinates neighborhood improvement programs, manages the civic engagement infrastructure, and helps communities access city services. Community meetings connect residents directly with city staff and resources.
