The Houston Independent School District Board of Education meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM at the Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center, 4400 West 18th Street. HISD is the largest school district in Texas, serving more than 187,000 students. Board meetings are open to the public and cover education policy, school budgets, staffing decisions, curriculum standards, and facilities planning. Community members can register for public comment through the HISD eComment system on Legistar.
