The Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command is the local arm of The Salvation Army (Southern Territory) providing social services across the Houston region from about 17 locations. It offers emergency shelter and transitional housing, disaster relief, rent/utility and basic-needs assistance, youth and senior programs, rehabilitation, and seasonal Christmas assistance.
These Youth Programs offer recreational facilities, educational and music programs, feeding programs, and youth development, including the Brighter Futures scholarship program. They are provided by The Salvation Army, a United Way of Greater Houston partner organization serving area youth.
