Multiple Houston Public Library locations citywide. Passport services, including at the Walker Neighborhood Library at 11630 Chimney Rock Rd., are also available at six HPL branches.
Becoming a U.S. citizen is a big step, and preparing for the naturalization exam can feel overwhelming. These classes break it down into manageable pieces — covering American government, history, and your rights and responsibilities — so you walk in on exam day feeling ready and confident.
Houston Public Library operates 44 branch locations across Houston, providing free library services to all Houston residents. Beyond books and media, HPL offers free computer and internet access, job search assistance, resume workshops, ESL and citizenship classes, GED preparation programs, early literacy programs for young children, and after-school homework help. The library's Digital Learning Centers provide technology training for adults. HPL operates the HoustonHistory.org digital archive and the Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research. Library cards are free for Houston and Harris County residents and provide access to digital resources including eBooks, streaming services, and research databases.
