Good decisions start with good information. The CPP exists to make rigorous, unbiased research available to the whole community — not just policy insiders. Whether you want to understand how trade policies affect Houston jobs, how population growth will reshape Texas, or how local tax caps compare across cities, the CPP has done that work and made it accessible.
The CPP conducts research on a wide range of public policy topics, including education, transportation, political participation, energy, demographics, and economic trends. Research teams use tools like statistical analysis, surveys, computer simulations, and interactive data visualizations. Past projects include studies on Houston voter participation, Texas population projections through 2050, coastal flooding and evacuation planning, and the economic effects of trade policy on the Houston area.
