Peck Elementary School serves our Third Ward community with quality public education for children in early education through fifth grade. This Houston ISD school welcomes 388 students at 5001 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, providing a strong foundation for young learners in one of Houston's most historic neighborhoods. Principal Jennifer Whittie leads a dedicated team that helps children build reading, math, and critical thinking skills they need to succeed. Peck Elementary matters because every child deserves access to excellent education close to home. Our Third Ward families can walk their children to school, building stronger neighborhood connections. The school provides free breakfast and lunch, ensuring students have the nutrition they need to focus and learn. Students also enjoy art, music, PE, and after-school programs that develop creativity and teamwork skills. This impacts Houston families by giving parents a trusted place where their children grow academically and socially. Strong elementary schools create stronger communities - when children succeed, our whole neighborhood benefits. Parents can get involved by visiting the school, joining the Parent Teacher Organization, or volunteering in classrooms. Call (713) 845-7463 to schedule a tour, ask about enrollment, or learn how you can support student success. Registration typically happens in spring for the following school year.
