Goodwill Houston Electric Vehicle Training Program

WHAT IS THIS? Goodwill Houston's Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Installer Trainee Program is a free career training program starting January 2026. This hands-on program teaches people how to install and maintain electric vehicle charging stations. Students learn safety protocols, site preparation, installation techniques, and system testing over several weeks of intensive training. WHY DOES IT MATTER? Clean energy jobs are growing fast across America, with nearly 40% requiring no college degree. Electric vehicle charging stations are being built everywhere as more people buy electric cars. Houston needs trained workers to install and maintain this equipment. This program gives people job skills for a growing field with good wages and advancement opportunities. HOW DOES IT IMPACT ME? Graduates can work for electrical companies, construction firms, or EV charging companies throughout the Houston area. These jobs offer competitive pay and career growth as the electric vehicle industry expands. The training leads directly to employment opportunities with local employers who need skilled technicians. The program is free and includes job placement support after graduation.
