Transmittal by the Flood Control District of the executed amendment to the agreement with the Texas General Land Office to approve one project for the CDBG-DR Program (24-033-000-E072).
Harris County Commissioners Court accepts an amendment adding one project to the $322M CDBG-DR flood recovery program, with a February 2027 spending deadline.
Harris County Commissioners Court is asked to accept a signed amendment to the agreement between the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) and the Texas General Land Office. The amendment adds one more project to the CDBG-DR Program, a federally funded disaster recovery effort. Harris County received about $322 million after Hurricane Harvey to build flood-reduction infrastructure. All funds must be spent by February 28, 2027. As of mid-2026, all 11 recovery projects had been bid for construction.
This agreement controls how federal disaster money from Hurricane Harvey is spent on flood projects in Harris County. Changes to the agreement affect which flood-reduction projects get built near your neighborhood.
