Harris County Commissioners Court is being asked to approve closing an Imprest Account held by the Harris County Auditor's Office. Imprest accounts are fixed-balance cash funds used by county departments for specific expenses. Opening one required court approval, so closing it does too. The item (file 26-5198) was introduced July 23, 2026, and is scheduled to be heard August 6, 2026. Contact carmella.sanford@aud.hctx.net for more information.
Commissioners Court controls how county departments hold and spend public cash. Closing a fixed cash fund changes how one office manages day-to-day expenses paid from county money.
