Harris County will vote July 9, 2026 on a contract change for a La Porte stormwater basin that will store 16.4 million gallons to reduce flooding.
Harris County Commissioners Court will vote on July 9, 2026 to approve a contract change with Environmental Allies, Inc. for the Brookglen Stormwater Detention Basin – Phase 2 in La Porte. This South Compartment project, funded by the 2018 voter-approved Bond Program, will help protect the Brookglen neighborhood from flooding. Once both phases are complete, the basin will hold about 16.4 million gallons of stormwater before slowly releasing it into Armand Bayou.
