Harris County Commissioners Court considers approving travel funding for officials and staff attending legislative activities during the 2027–2028 Texas Legisla
Harris County Commissioners Court is being asked to approve an order allowing county officials and staff to travel — inside Texas and out of state — for legislative purposes during the 2027–2028 Texas Legislature biennium. The order lets the county pay for transportation, lodging, and related costs so Harris County representatives can attend meetings in Austin and elsewhere. The item was introduced June 11, 2026, and is on the Court's agenda for July 9, 2026.
Harris County wants to spend public money on travel for staff and officials to attend state and out-of-state legislative meetings in 2027–2028. Residents may care because county funds would be used for these trips.
