Harris County Commissioners Court will consider a $2,767,903.08 amendment to an engineering contract with Agha Engineering, LLC on July 9, 2026. The funding covers design, bidding, and construction support for Phases 3 and 4 of the Keegans Bayou Stormwater Detention Basin in southwest Houston. The basin stores excess stormwater to reduce flooding in the Brays Bayou watershed. The project is part of Harris County's Bond Program flood mitigation effort, and minority- and women-owned business participation exceeds the contracted goal.
This project adds stormwater storage near Keegans Bayou in the Brays Bayou watershed. Neighbors in that area may see changes to how nearby land is used during design and construction phases.
