Harris County Sheriff's Office seeks approval to apply for a $200,000 federal grant to fund a two-year child exploitation investigation project.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office wants permission to apply for up to $200,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice's COPS program. The money would fund a two-year pilot project to investigate and stop child exploitation in the Houston area. No local matching funds are required. The Harris County Commissioners Court is set to vote on this request on September 17, 2026.
