Texas passed House Bill 1, called the Youth CAMPER Act, to make sure youth camps keep children safe. The law requires camps to have detailed emergency plans, set rules for how many counselors work with each group of kids, and inspections to make sure camps follow the rules. A team from state agencies will help develop safety standards for all camps.
