Harris County Commissioners Court approved an amendment to continue HIV prevention and care services through St. Hope Foundation. This contract supports the Ryan White Program Part A and the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative, providing essential health services to our community members living with HIV/AIDS. The Ryan White Program helps people access medical care, medications, and support services regardless of their ability to pay. The Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative focuses on reducing new HIV infections through testing, prevention, and treatment programs. These services matter because HIV disproportionately affects certain Houston communities, particularly communities of color and LGBTQ+ residents. The programs provide life-saving medical care, help people stay healthy, and prevent the spread of HIV to others. This keeps our families and neighborhoods healthier and stronger. The contract covers services from March 2026 through February 2027 with no cost increase, showing responsible use of county resources. Harris County residents can access these services through St. Hope Foundation and other Ryan White providers across our area.
