Harris County Funds Youth Development Jobs Through My Brother's Keeper Grant

Harris County Commissioners Court approved a temporary funding transfer of $40,485.54 to support five youth development positions while waiting for federal My Brother's Keeper grant money from the City of Houston. This funding keeps important mentorship and support programs running for young men of color in our community. My Brother's Keeper is a national initiative that helps young people succeed in school, stay out of trouble, and find good jobs. These five positions work directly with youth in Harris County neighborhoods, providing tutoring, job training, and life skills support. The funding extends these positions until July 2027, ensuring continuous support for families who need it most.
