Harris County Commissioners Court approved renewing a contract with 1st Response Family Clinic to provide annual health screenings for Fire Marshal's Office staff. This $70,000 contract covers the period from June 2026 to June 2027 and ensures fire safety inspectors receive required medical exams under National Fire Protection Association standards. The Fire Marshal's Office protects our community by inspecting buildings, investigating fires, and enforcing safety codes across Harris County. These annual physicals keep fire safety staff healthy and ready to respond to emergencies that affect all of us. When fire inspectors are properly trained and medically cleared, they can better protect our homes, schools, and businesses from fire hazards. This contract passed Commissioners Court on May 14, 2026, after being introduced on May 1, 2026. The specialized nature of these medical exams meant no minority or women-owned business participation goal was set.
