When Hurricane Harvey hit, systems like this helped save lives by getting evacuation orders to families quickly. The technology requires ongoing maintenance and software updates to work properly when we need it most. Harris County Commissioners Court approved this contract renewal in May 2024, recognizing that reliable emergency communication is essential for protecting residents across all 34 cities in our county.
