Harris County Approves Road Maintenance Contract for Toll Roads

Harris County Commissioners Court approved a contract renewal with Texas ReExcavation LLC for hydro excavation services on our toll roads through April 2027. This $51,500 contract helps maintain safe, smooth roads for drivers across Harris County. Hydro excavation uses high-pressure water to safely dig around underground utilities when road repairs are needed. This prevents damage to gas lines, water pipes, and electrical cables during construction work. The Harris County Toll Road Authority manages several major highways including the Sam Houston Tollway, Westpark Tollway, and Hardy Toll Road. These roads carry thousands of vehicles daily, connecting neighborhoods from Katy to Kingwood to Clear Lake. When potholes form or utilities need repair, hydro excavation keeps the work safe and roads open. The contract went through our county purchasing process and was approved by all five commissioners representing different parts of Harris County. While this specific contract has 0% participation from minority and women-owned businesses because the work cannot be divided into smaller parts, Harris County actively promotes diverse business participation in other contracts.
