Harris County Commissioners Court approved additional funding for Burnett Bayland Park improvements in Precinct 4. The contract with Millis Development and Construction, LLC received $1.78 million more and 90 extra days to complete Phase 1A.1 landscape work. This brings our community closer to having a fully renovated park space. Parks like Burnett Bayland provide essential recreation areas where families can play, exercise, and gather. They boost property values in nearby neighborhoods. They give kids safe places to be active after school. The project includes new landscaping that will make the park more beautiful and functional for years to come. The contract has a 19.53% goal for minority and women-owned business participation, ensuring local entrepreneurs benefit from public spending. When construction finishes, residents will have improved trails, better lighting, updated playgrounds, and enhanced green spaces. This investment shows Harris County's commitment to quality recreation facilities. Residents can track project progress by contacting the Harris County Engineering Department.
