About this park
Allen's Landing is where Houston began. This small downtown park at 1001 Commerce Street sits on Buffalo Bayou at the spot where Augustus and John Allen founded the city in 1836. Today it has a boat launch, a shaded plaza, and views of the bayou. You can launch a kayak here or walk the bayou trail east toward the Ship Channel. It connects to the larger Buffalo Bayou trail system. Maintained by Houston Parks and Recreation.
