Lawndale Art Center is a nonprofit, multidisciplinary contemporary art center located in Houston's Museum District. Founded in 1979, it is dedicated to presenting contemporary art with a strong focus on Houston and regional artists. The center features four galleries, an outdoor sculpture garden, and an Artist Studio Program that offers working studio space and support to local artists. Lawndale presents more than twenty exhibitions per year, along with lectures, film screenings, performances, and community events. Admission is always free and open to the public.
