IEC Texas Gulf Coast

IEC Texas Gulf Coast is a nonprofit trade association for independent electrical contractors in the Houston area. Founded in 1927, it represents over 200 electrical contractors and more than 2,000 journeyman electricians, associates, and engineers. The organization runs a four-year apprenticeship program that combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction, helping people start careers in the electrical trade. It also offers continuing education classes, exam prep for journeyman and master electrician licenses, and networking events for members. IEC Texas Gulf Coast lobbies at the local, state, and federal levels on issues important to the electrical industry and helps member contractors with hiring, code questions, and business support.
