The Houston Employee Relief Organization (HERO) is a 501(c)(3) charity established in 2007. It provides financial and emotional support to the survivors of City of Houston employees who are killed while serving the community, with all contributions going to its Survivors Fund for the dependents of fallen municipal employees.
