The Greater Houston Area Health Education Center, also known as Texas AHEC East Greater Houston Region, is a nonprofit working to improve health in urban and high-needs communities since 1994. It trains Community Health Workers, supports health profession students through its AHEC Scholars Program, and offers health literacy classes for seniors. It serves Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, and Waller Counties.
